We stopped here late at night on the way to Marmot Basin for skiing. The two story suite gave our family plenty of space, with two bathrooms, and the front desk staff were so friendly. I asked for an extra blanket and she happily brought two. There was some road and foot traffic noise, which seems normal for a hotel, and breakfast was enjoyable and well stocked. Great value for a family. This was our third hotel in Hinton, and we'll stay here again for our annual Marmot ski trip next year.

The kids liked the breakfast selection, and we'd stay here again. The rooms were clean and fairly large. The TV was damaged and the rooms were showing their age, but for the price it was fine.

Our two-night family loft stay at Lakeview Inn and Suites was really disappointing. The washroom door wouldn't work, the hairdryer was broken, and the room wasn't cleaned on the second day. When we asked the front desk about it, they said housekeeping hadn't cleaned because we'd asked for towels, which we never did. We hadn't even spoken to the cleaning staff. We raised the problems again that evening, but were told nothing could be done. Frustrating and not worth the money. I wouldn't stay here again.

A lot of the lights don't work, the fireplaces are out, and the pilot lights are off. There were sticky patches on the bathroom floor, white specks on the carpet, and dust all over the ceiling fans. I also called to ask about booking a room, but the woman barely spoke English and didn't seem interested in helping. She wanted to book me instead of giving me prices. The customer service was really bad.

The leak was a hassle, but the way management handled it was what really bothered me. We checked in and immediately saw the AC dripping steadily onto the floor. At the front desk, a staff member brought towels and said the unit sometimes did this when the outside temperature was in a certain range. She said there were no other rooms available, so we tried to make it work with the towels. The AC dripped noisily all night, leaving the floor wet. We had to get our feet wet just to get into bed. In the morning I asked about compensation for the room. The reception worker could offer 25%; I asked for at least 75%, since management could have fixed a known issue before our arrival, even a week earlier. The manager then appeared and argued with me, making judgmental assumptions. She said the AC leaked when it wasn't operated properly, and that our room had an instruction card. She described it as a usage problem, not something that needed repair. But the floor was already wet and the unit was dripping before we even entered, and we never touched the AC controls during our stay. She said we should have asked for another room. We had, but were told the hotel was full. She then said she wouldn't give more than 25% for a mere steady drip. I explained that the noise continued all night and it was unpleasant to step onto a wet floor before getting into bed. She got very angry and told the front desk to give me the 75% discount, then stomped off. I said, "thank you, I do appreciate it," and she muttered, "yes, I bet you do." It's a lovely hotel, and the drip itself was unfortunate. I don't think management needed to get angry or downplay the inconvenience when we were trying to resolve it. I didn't like how this was handled.
