The service was great, and the lodge has a casual, welcoming feel. There's plenty to do in the surrounding area, and the staff are friendly. The beers were cold too! It's good lodging, though there's only so much to do on the property for somewhere called a resort. I also wish the security were updated so every room had a passkey. I wasn't comfortable having to leave my room unlocked during my stay.

The scenery and views around Williston Lake Resort are beautiful, and that was the highlight for us. The rest of our family stay was not positive, and I wouldn't recommend it for families with children. At about 9 p.m. we came out of our room looking for help, but the place seemed empty, with the lights off and no staff around. It felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, so we went back to our room. Earlier, when we parked to check in, a large dog was barking and growling at us. Our five-year-old was very scared and honestly traumatized. My husband told the staff, but they just said, “It’s okay, he won’t bite,” and did nothing. Our son was frightened for the rest of the stay, so this didn't feel kid-friendly for families with young children. The next morning, staff reminded us about the 11 a.m. checkout and told us to get our bags out while we were still finishing breakfast at around 10:30. We felt rushed, and the way they spoke to customers didn't feel friendly or reasonable.

This place is really out of the ordinary. Everything seems to run on trust, and you don't even need to lock your room when you go out. It's cozy, and the staff are very friendly. If you're in the area, come check it out!

A great hidden gem, from the location to the spectacular food and the awesome people running the lodge.

The resort was beautiful, and the views were spectacular. They were the best hosts for my crew, serving amazing food and being extremely accommodating around our odd work hours. I'd 100% recommend staying if you're in the area!
