Rodeway Inn King William

I stay here often, and it's consistently a great experience. The location is just right, with restaurants, shops, pharmacies, and everything else I need within walking distance. The staff are kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile, and everything goes smoothly from check-in to check-out. The rooms are always spotless, the beds are comfortable, and it's quiet and relaxing. I really appreciate the attention to detail and reliable service. This is my go-to when I'm in town, and I highly recommend it.

I had a reservation and had told the property ahead of time that I'd arrive at 10 pm. They confirmed the time, but when I got there the office was closed. I used the call button, and they said they were sold out and couldn't check me in. I explained that I was one of the expected guests, but they insisted I must have the wrong date or place. When someone came down, I showed her the reservation and our messages about my arrival time. She kept saying it couldn't be right, it wasn't their fault, and they had no record of me, even though we'd spoken through the booking chat. After a long back and forth, she called a coworker, and they confirmed they had talked to me. Then she said that didn't matter because they hadn't known I had a reservation. Once she found it in the system, she claimed it had been cancelled and again blamed the reservation system. Then, suddenly, she had my choice of room ready and available, for $30 more than my booking price. I left and stayed elsewhere. If rooms were available, I don't understand why they made such a fuss and put all the blame on me. A simple explanation that they couldn't find my reservation but had rooms would have been an easy sale. Instead, the service was terrible, and I told others not to stay there. I definitely wouldn't risk staying here and dealing with that.

We've stayed several times and the place works perfectly for us. The front desk woman was friendly, accommodating, and made us feel welcome. Our room was updated and very clean, and the AC was blasting, much needed in the heat. Even though it's close to traffic, we couldn't hear it and slept like babies in the super comfortable beds. Shopping, food, and great views are just a short walk away. We'll be back.

We were on a three-day motorcycle ride, and this was our last overnight stop. Restaurants and shops were an easy walk away. In the morning, staff had left drying towels by our bikes so we could wipe off the dew. Those little touches make a place great, and the staff were awesome.
