Pemberley House B&B

John was an amazing host, and breakfast was impeccable. The house is decorated beautifully with stylish antiques. You won't be disappointed!

Grace won us over straight away. She’s a playful four-legged furball, and her affection made our two nights even more special. We stayed at Pemberley House at the start of October, 2024, and the whole experience exceeded what we expected. John greeted us with a tour of the gorgeous Victorian home, tastefully filled with period antiques, and he’s a caring host with lots of interests, including a fantastic vintage pen collection. He also made us a delicious breakfast, with an outstanding range of jams and jellies. Thanks, John, for sharing your home and making the stay memorable, and thanks, Grace, for all the four-legged love. She loves back scratches 🫠

We enjoyed the little sitting area by the dining room and the deck outside, where you can unwind with music from their album collection. There are plenty of books around too if you feel like reading. The rooms were clean and lovely, with quality sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, and toiletries. We were so glad we came that we returned again this summer, and hope to visit another time. On our first visit this summer, John and Nancy asked about our food preferences ahead of time. When we arrived, they chatted with us, showed us around the house, shared its history, and pointed out nearby places to visit. The next morning’s breakfast was a treat for us as vegetarians: fresh fruit and vegetables, buttered toast with lots of jams and marmalades, pancakes, hash browns, eggs, and juice. This beautiful Victorian-style home is a real gem in South Huron for a peaceful, relaxing stay, and both hosts are wonderful.

We’ve stayed at Pemberley House twice now, and the second visit was even better. John and Nancy really make you feel at home. Breakfast is spectacular, so come hungry. There’s a tasty scrambled egg dish with local cheese, plus John’s excellent hash browns and local bacon, with several kinds of fruit and vegetables. You can also pick from about 20 local jams and marmalades, and choosing is tough because they all sound good, and taste good too. The century-old Pemberley House is beautiful, filled with antiques Nancy has collected over the years. The rooms are well appointed and have plenty of amenities. We’re sure you’ll enjoy staying here.
