The room was clean, including the bathroom and bedding, and the towels were changed during our two nights in Room 36. The AC worked well, though we couldn't adjust it and it stayed around 64°F, which was fine for us. It also helped cover the highway traffic noise, and the place was quiet overall. There were vehicles outside, but I didn't really see other guests. Nearby were restaurants, a Tim Hortons, and a grocery store. Getting there by GPS was a real problem. We had to call, and the helpful front desk person directed us using the neighboring Dairy Queen as a landmark. The room had a microwave and fridge, but no hair dryer or iron, and the bathroom had only soap and towels. We hadn't planned to stay here. Our original Montréal hotel booking through Booking.com was canceled for overbooking while we were already on the way. Booking.com sent a link to this motel, and with few options at that point, we booked it. I got worried after checking the reviews and seeing so many negative comments. The motel did what we needed, and the staff member at the desk was helpful. Given the unexpected situation, the stay was okay, but if I had other choices, I personally wouldn't pick it. I prefer a place that feels more comfortable and comparable to, or better than, my own home.

The rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes and were very dirty. Cigarette burns marked the blankets, and people were often smoking outside the rooms. The toilets wouldn't flush, and huge bathroom windows faced a direction where anyone could peek in. Some shower heads didn't work at all, and despite the sign, there was no free breakfast.

For a cheap motel, the innkeeper was super nice, and check-in and check-out were easy. Even with the noisy location, the room was reasonably quiet. The bathroom looked newer, was clean, and seemed in good shape. The bedspreads were clean, but the carpet had stains. The rooms still left a lot to be desired. The AC barely worked, and its outlet had no cover and was dangerously loose. There were no outlets between the beds and no nightstands on the outer sides. The lamp couldn't be plugged in, and one bed's outlet was stuck behind the headboard. I had to use a small box to prop the bottom of the headboard away from the wall to reach it. If they replaced the AC, covered that outlet, added an extension cord for the lamp and maybe small tables or shelves beside the beds, adjusted the headboard, and cleaned the carpet thoroughly, I wouldn't have complaints. Cheap motel, cheap motel.

You can't beat the price, and the location is right on the highway. About 20 minutes from down. Very satisfied.
