Lighthouse Lane Cottages

The Seahorse cabin made room for three adults without any trouble, and it was set up wonderfully. We had a family wedding at Oceanstone Resort, but I’d recommend Lighthouse Lanes over Oceanstone. Oceanstone is nice, though it doesn’t have the same views or hospitality. Dina and Colin were gracious hosts, and the setting here is hard to match. We enjoyed stunning sunsets and powerful surf. The cottages are an easy drive from Peggy’s Cove and Lunenberg, and we also went to Minas Basin and the Bay of Fundy. There are a couple of restaurants nearby, though some only open in season. Noor’s falafel is worth trying. A handy convenience store has all sorts of things, ice cream included. I’d come back.

The sunsets were beautiful, and everything about our family stay felt just right. Dena and Colin were warm and welcoming, brought extra bedding so the kids could sleep separately, and even helped when our son’s ball landed on the roof. We stayed in the seahorse cottage in August 2025, my husband, me, and our two kids, aged 10 and 11. The two bedrooms and two ensuites made it a great fit for us, and the pull-out bed worked well for my daughter. We made smores at the fire pit, used the provided wetsuits for little swims from the dock, and went out on the paddleboard. The view from the rock that sticks out from the land is gorgeous. Peggy’s cove is close and has great parkour for a 10-year-old with lots of energy. We also tried the recommended Rhubarb restaurant and got tasty takeout from cafe l’acadie across the street.

We liked both visits, first two nights in the Oyster cottage and then, a week later, a stay in the Crab cottage. The views are gorgeous, especially at sunset, and both kitchens were well stocked. The owners were quick to respond and helpful, with suggestions for places to eat, shop, and explore. It’s a lovely spot, and we hope to return.

Staying at Lighthouse Lane Cottages was a peaceful break by the sea. Starfish Cottage was cozy, clean, and furnished with what we needed. We had a lovely view and were close to the water. Getting in was easy, with clear, simple instructions. It was a relaxing stay, and I’d gladly come back or recommend it to someone wanting to unwind.
