Inuvik Capital Suites

We took photos and videos, then left after about 15 minutes. The front desk returned the full amount for our three nights without asking questions, which was the one good part. We were excited to arrive in Inuvik, but that quickly became a huge disappointment. Our two-bedroom “suite” was filthy: the windows, kitchen, and microwave were dirty, and the blinds were dusty with dead bugs. The sofa and chairs looked like they belonged in a 1970s horror movie and were so stained we wouldn't touch them. The place smelled, cabinet doors were falling off, and the rotten balcony seemed hazardous. I can't believe the reviews calling it clean.

We were told the sofa bed would be made up, but it wasn't. Its mattress had stains from unknown substances, and the comforter was left on the closet floor. We couldn't get a clean comforter, and there weren't any facecloths.

We switched hotels after the first night, though we had to do some cleaning to manage until we could move. The room was very dirty: food was on the kitchen cabinets, and there was toothpaste spatter on the walls and urine in the bathroom. The white blinds had several panels missing and were badly stained. There were no blackout curtains.

The room was spacious and nice, with good AC and blackout blinds, and we stayed two nights. But for $203 a night, I expected the coffee and towels to be replenished, the bed made, and the garbage emptied. None of that happened. The woman at check-in didn't tell us that room cleaning had to be requested ahead of time, or that the Wi-Fi code changes daily and you have to get the new one each morning. The Wi-Fi also stopped working on day two.
