Balsam Resort

We booked at the last minute for Sunday night and loved our stay. The chalets were spotless, updated, and stocked with what we needed. The beds were comfy, the hosts were wonderful, and the resort was neat and clearly well cared for. The swimming area is great for kids, and there was plenty to do. We'd happily recommend it and book again.

I brought my wife, six of my kids, and three grandchildren, and we all loved the family atmosphere. The owners put on an amazing fireworks display, and the grounds, rooms, beach, and toys you can use were all great. Thanks so much to Liz and Jim for looking after us so well. We'll be back.

We rented a cottage for six adults over the Labour Day long weekend. There was plenty of room and a kitchenette, and the resort had lots for the family to do. Kids had sand toys, a trampoline in the lake, and there were enough paddle boats and kayaks. The weekend fireworks were amazing and well worth the money. Even the barbecue was top quality, a Napoleon, with no compromises on quality. It's a great resort for families with kids, and we'll definitely return.

We spent several nights by the beach having drinks around the fire, and it was really relaxing. We were there for a wedding, and the neighbors were fairly accommodating about the noise. The cabins are rustic but clean, and the grounds are well maintained. There's a great beach with water toys for kids, including a lily pad, floating climbing wall, and water trampoline. The floating tiki bar was a blast to sit on with friends, and its lights stay on until 11:45pm. The older cabin's beds are small and uncomfortable and should be replaced, but that didn't spoil the stay. I'd recommend the place for a holiday on the water.
