The place was noisy, and the bed was so uncomfortable that the floor felt better. Breakfast was a joke: just a piece of bread, two kinds of juice, and coffee. The people running the place took their job very seriously. They kicked my neighbours out at 1:30 am for having one extra person in their room, and kicked out Megan Mai, the famous model. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. Stay far away.

The room layout was economical, with two beds in an L-shaped space and a movable divider. That could work well for friends who want a bit of perceived privacy. The rooms were clean. Sound traveled easily through the thin walls and through the large window. We found that out when a fight broke out outside, four rooms away.

The rooms are decent cottage-style, but the low doorways inside the suite are something to watch out for. I’m 6'7, and hitting my head would be no fun. The motel wasn’t exactly the Ritz, and some of the other guests struck me as low class slum dwellers, prostitutes, or wannabe gangsters showing off how tough they were. I booked for one night because I was too late to find another hotel and they were full. For $100 plus tax, I could sleep better for free in the park. I’m very unlikely to stay again. Next time I’ll book well ahead at a real hotel.

We found black kinky hair around waist level and what looked like a bug casing when we pulled back the sheet. The Asian woman didn’t seem to care. There was no bottled water in the room either. This felt like a cut-rate operation run to third-world standards. We don’t recommend the motel, since the health of your family isn’t worth the risk.

We decided not to stay after seeing the room and what was offered for continental breakfast. The room smelled, and breakfast turned out to be a muffin and a cup of coffee. We didn’t want to expose our children to it, so we went back to ask for our money back. The desk clerk said I’d signed just five minutes earlier and wouldn’t reverse the charges. When I insisted, he checked with the owner or manager, who said we hadn’t given 24 hours’ notice and still refused. The motel was clearly far from full, but that didn’t matter to them. We had reserved from March 28 for three additional nights and completed paperwork at the office before viewing the room. We were very disappointed by the whole episode. We found that the Holiday Inn Express had far superior accommodations for only $10 more, and stayed there for the next three nights.
