Okanagan Valley Rentals at Discovery Bay

The apartments are really nice and come with tons of amenities. It’s in a premium downtown spot, with a park nearby that you can walk to. Very impressive.

They let us check in early and leave late, which was nice. The place had lots of space, plenty of wood furnishings, and comfortable beds. It was clean, though some details had been missed. There were no Kleenex boxes, couch cushions, or throw blankets. The patio door only locks from inside, so you can’t exit that way, and there’s very little privacy outside with neighbors just a few feet away.

Our first day was awful. After a five-hour drive, we got a text saying check-in wasn’t until 1 pm. We reached the room at 1:25 and housekeeping was still there. There was no toilet paper, so we couldn’t even use the bathroom. The housekeeper told us to use paper towel and put it in the garbage. We waited another 20 minutes for toiletries. The parking setup is terrible, with no signs to help you find the right elevator. Worse, the bed was covered in other people’s hair, with all sorts of hairs, stains including blood, and bugs. I took photos and called the front office. Donna was rude and disrespectful, and seemed not to care that we were paying for a clean bed. She argued the sheets had been washed, so I asked her to come see for herself. She couldn’t even tell me when the pool closed. We were eventually told housekeeping had left and we’d have to wash everything ourselves. Disgusting place. Do not book here; you’ll regret it.

We stayed in a three-bedroom condo with a balcony overlooking the lake. The resort has a pool, hot tub, and underground parking, and felt very secure. There are coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, and parks close by, and the downtown core is only minutes away. We’d definitely return.
