Ramada Hotel & Conference Center by Wyndham Kelowna

We stayed 11 nights, and the room was dusty, the mirrors spotty, and the floors dirty. One night we arrived late to find it hadn't been cleaned. I don't think the cleaners care, and the stayover cleaning was the laziest. Once we came back to dirty rags and a spray bottle left in the room, but given its condition, I couldn't see where anything had been cleaned. I don't think we ever got clean sheets. Free parking is nice, but the hotel itself was just okay and the decor badly needs an upgrade and renovations. EDIT: Management emailed back and completely blamed me while begging for a good review. Ridiculous and unprofessional. You have to laugh. That's no way to run a hotel.

The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly the whole time. The hotel is showing its age, especially the beds, which need updating. Still, everything was clean and well kept overall, so the stay was comfortable.

We booked the "New York Suite" on a whim for our anniversary. Neither the hotel's booking service nor the hotel itself could tell me whether it had a large bathtub, but it does. The suite was adequately clean, though the furniture needs quite a bit of repair, with scratches and dents, and there was no luggage rack. The tub is both great and frustrating. It's big and deep enough for two, which was perfect for me as a pregnant, achy mom who can't use a hot tub. I needed help getting in and out. The overhead lights were harsh, so next time I'd bring softer lighting or battery candles. There were no instructions for the jets, and the timer option was almost impossible to turn off. The front desk wasn't helpful when we tried to sort it out, though they offered to move us. My husband managed to fix it. I told the morning staff what happened and hope they'll add better instructions for the suite and night staff. Even just to shower, the tub is hard for me to climb into because the barricade is over a foot wide and quite tall. That's understandable since it's not advertised as an accessible suite, and there are stairs to reach the room.

Finding the place was easy, which I appreciated on my first drive through Kelowna. It's right off the highway, and the location is spot on. Everyone who helped us or passed by was wonderful and always smiling. We stayed three nights, and my kids loved the pool. It was handy having a McDonald's two parking lots away, with no streets to cross, just a walk through the lots. We could grab a quick breakfast and coffee before heading out to explore.
