I’ve lived in the Skye tower for 11 years and still love it. It’s one of the best downtown neighborhoods, right on the lake and close to all the amenities. Not many locations can compare.

The views are great, but the apartments are really small for the price, and the common spaces close much too early. The underground parking is super tight. The smoke detectors are way too sensitive, too. I can’t cook without setting them off, and I can hear neighbors having the same problem.

The low rise buildings look tired and dated. The place seems to have an identity crisis: you might be woken by screaming kids in the tiny pool at 8 am, or by adolescents partying there after hours at night. That pool is shared by around 400 units, and the property allows smoking on balconies. It’s a destination for stag and hen parties, and long term renters or owners can feel like a takeover is happening in summer. Enjoy sharing your home with selfish Airbnb neighbors.
