Breakfast was as good as a restaurant’s, and John gave us helpful suggestions for walking trails and places to eat. John and Danielle made us feel welcome and looked after from the moment we arrived. The lodge was beautiful and peaceful, right on the Cowichan River, with a lovely little seating spot by the water. High ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows made it feel spacious, and the decor was beautiful. Our room was just right, and everything we needed was provided. We can’t wait to return!

John picked us up after dinner so we could have drinks, and there was a fire going when we got back. The surroundings were beautiful, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and had super comfortable beds. John and Danielle were great hosts, and John cooked us a delicious breakfast. We really couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks!

John and Danielle are such generous, thoughtful hosts, and they made our stay feel complete. The Lodge is gorgeous, with beautiful grounds and a private beach on the river. It’s a magical little escape. I highly recommend this hidden piece of paradise.

Bring binoculars, and you might meet Justin (the) Beaver. John was a fantastic host, always available and full of knowledge about the area and its wildlife. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious, breakfast was great, and the views were stunning. This stay made our trip from Spain worthwhile. Thanks, John!

The property is stunning, with river access, mountain views, and plenty of places to sit and take it all in. John and Danielle were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made the best breakfasts. The sausage was hands down the best breakfast sausage I’ve ever had. The lodge itself was beautiful, spacious, and clean. I’d definitely recommend it and come back.
