Baker Creek By Basecamp

The jacuzzi suite was spotless, right down to the dusted ceiling fan, and worked perfectly for us. The staff were lovely, especially at the front desk and cafe. We came for a quiet few days after Christmas, and the beautiful winter setting, groomed walking and cross-country ski paths, and riverside fire pits with wood all made it just right. The skating rink didn’t seem to be operating during our visit. My one small gripe was that the beds felt a bit hard, though that’s personal preference. We’ll definitely return.

We loved the little village feel, especially the lit ice rink with hockey sticks, firewood by the fire pits, and s’mores kits you could buy. The room looked out on a winter wonderland, and was spacious, warm, and cozy, with comfortable beds and excellent coffee. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly. We wanted somewhere near Lake Louise Ski Resort where we could also get away from everything, and Baker Creek By Basecamp was exactly that. We’re already looking forward to returning.

The room’s jacuzzi was a welcome treat after hiking, and the water heated up quickly. We also slept really well, and loved watching snow fall through the huge French doors and windows. This quiet spot in Lake Louise feels like a proper cabin in the woods. The cabins weren’t crowded or noisy, and our walk under the moonlit mountains and trees was stunning. Inside, the rustic rooms were comfortable, with a wood-burning fireplace that warmed the space nicely. Staff were kind and helpful, and the fresh, finely ground coffee at check-in was a lovely touch. The room had a mountain view from the balcony. We’d followed Baker Creek on Instagram for years before finally booking, and were so impressed. Some people mention the wifi. We only used it briefly and it worked fine, though it’s a nice place to put your phone away and enjoy the setting. We just wish we’d stayed longer, and plan to come back. 5/5.

We stayed in the superior one-bedroom suite, and the front desk team went out of their way to make us comfortable. There was a fully equipped kitchen and a fireplace, plus outdoor fires with free wood and an ice rink. It’s about a 15-minute drive from Lake Louise ski hill, so I’d recommend it for a winter stay.
