Shady Rest Motel

The room might have been nice if it were cleaner and more up to date. As soon as we walked in, there was a strange smell, and the top sheet had little sand-like particles on it. They could've done a lot better. I really don't recommend this place.

My son paid to stay for a month, but bedbugs showed up in his first week. The owners confirmed they were bedbugs and said they'd spray. When he found another one the next week, they moved him to a different room, where the same thing happened. He left and asked for a refund for the remaining two weeks, but they refused. The place was filthy and disgusting. I'd strongly recommend staying away.

I needed a room around 2 a.m. while driving to West Nipissing, and this place was open all night and rented me one. The price was good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and I slept comfortably in a clean room with nice, new furniture. The hot water was clean too. I don't know what the negative reviewers experienced, but I'd come back.

On my way to Thunder Bay last week, I couldn't find anywhere to stay at 1 a.m. Other motels were either closed or charging over $100 a night. Manager Ross welcomed me, and I got a room at a good price. It was in nice shape, dark, quiet, and cool, so I felt refreshed the next day. I'd stay here again.
