I had a good-sized room, and the bathroom was a highlight: heated floors and reliably hot water gave it a bit of a luxury feel. The TV had lots of channels and could connect to Netflix. The restaurant served delicious food, with plenty of room service options, and having a Starbucks in the hotel was handy in the mornings. The clean gym, pool, and hot tub were nice places to unwind after a long day, and the hotel was generally clean and comfortable. A few flaws kept it from being a perfect five-star stay: my bed squeaked badly, there was a noticeable stain on the wall, and some wallpaper was peeling. Even so, the hotel was fantastic and well worth a stay.

The woman at check-in was lovely, warm, and welcoming. After that, though, the stay went downhill. The hotel feels old-fashioned and needs renovations. My room was okay but hadn’t been dusted very well, and there was a bug buzzing around all night. I complained in the morning. Khaled said the manager would follow up, but I’ve never heard from them.

The outdoor seating has pretty views, and I like the idea of sitting on the patio, though it was colder than usual that day. The waitress didn’t offer a patio blanket, so I took a folded one from another chair. I hope they change them between guests. Our server seemed much less helpful as soon as we weren’t ordering alcohol. I noticed she was more helpful to the next two pairs, and more talkative with the person who ordered an alcoholic drink than with the other one. I couldn’t drink the coffee I ordered because it was so thick and strong, but I was still charged for it. I’m not impressed. I haven’t been back for a while, for very similar reasons. I’m always polite and friendly, and expect the same. The service was just okay.

A friend across the hall saw people in our room and questioned them. That’s how we found out staff had let strangers in while I was away at a work event, even though they knew I was out and a Do Not Disturb sign was clearly displayed. I hadn’t given permission, and nobody called or gave us notice or an explanation. Staff first said the visitors were “TV technicians,” but the TV worked perfectly before and after. Then the explanation changed to them wanting to make sure it kept working. I feel unsafe and deeply uncomfortable knowing the hotel allowed access to my private space without warning. This was a serious breach of trust, safety, and basic hospitality standards, not just poor service. I’d strongly advise people to think twice before staying here.
