Pine Grove Motel

I wouldn’t call this a reliable place. We checked in late because of travel concerns, and the caretaker had been told we’d be late and was fine with it. But in the morning, she started yelling at us over an early checkout. We also weren’t given enough resources, then had problems getting our deposit back, and didn’t get our money returned. Be aware before planning to stay here. It doesn’t even deserve one star.

The price was good, and the room was clean and comfortable, with its own router and Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, coffee, microwave, TV with lots of channels, and individual heating and cooling. It’s close to Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, and other places. The only thing I’d change is the shower head, which needs replacing.

Take a video of the room when you check out. They kept our security deposit after saying we’d caused a small flood, but never told us by phone or email, so we couldn’t respond or try to dispute the charge with our credit card company. The bathroom is basically a shoe box, so some water getting onto the floor is hardly surprising. There definitely wasn’t a substantial amount. Hi Alain, your response makes it sound like you think I’d do something like that on purpose. That’s nonsensical. We enjoyed our July 1 visit. Whatever happened, you didn’t call or email to say you were keeping the deposit, and that lack of contact seems suspect.

Even though we arrived very late at night, the owner arranged for us to check in over the phone, so we could go straight to our room. It’s pet-friendly, which worked perfectly for us and our furry travel companion. The rooms are small, but there’s enough space if all you need is a place to sleep. Ours was exceptionally clean and the location was quiet. A great little stop on the road.
