The one thing I'd change is the adjoining door. The neighbours were a bit loud, and sound carried right through it. Ask for a room without one if you can. Otherwise, it was a lovely place to stay, with comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and good morning coffee.

The staff even called to tell us we'd left an unopened bottle of wine in the room, which really impressed us. We were three couples arriving by boat in mid September, and found the rooms clean and comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff. The downtown spot had plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, plus the lock was a convenient 10minute walk away. We'd definitely recommend staying at the Village Inn in Lakefield.

My dad and his wife were really happy with their room, especially the extremely comfortable beds. They needed somewhere to stay overnight after a fire, and the staff did an amazing job making sure they were looked after and helping with some special requests. Very happy customers!

The staff were generous with their time and very helpful, and breakfast was good and more than enough. I got the room I'd requested, and it was comfortable. The microwave, kettle, and coffee maker came in handy too. My one request would be better TV coverage. Thanks for a wonderful stay, one of the best places I've stayed.

Clean, comfortable beds, and pleasant, helpful staff. It's a great little hotel for a very reasonable price, and I'd definitely stay again.
