Lane's Privateer Inn

The room was dirty, especially the floors, and the bathroom had no lights because its electricity wasn't working. Several outlets were out too, so I had to rearrange things to make coffee in the morning. Staff seemed pretty unbothered and dismissive when I raised it. The location is convenient, but the booking communication was unclear. I wouldn't recommend it.

We only went to the restaurant and didn't stay at the hotel. The location is beautiful, with water views, and the food and service were great. We'll eat here again.

In the room I was told had been cleaned, I found what I believe was animal feces all over the floor. After I told the front desk, they moved me to another room, but it wasn't as accommodating as the first one, even though I paid the same price. When I tried to run a bath, the tub was yellow and grimy, with a dirt ring all the way around it. I thought it might be a stain, but the dirt rubbed right off. It clearly hadn't been cleaned after other guests used it, so I washed it myself with soap and a rag before bathing. It was my first stay at lanes, and I won't stay again. The rooms were so gross that I felt uneasy about whether the sheets had even been changed. I nearly checked out last night and went somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend staying here. I can't say how the food tastes, and after finding that mess I wasn't sure I wanted to find out.

The seafood linguine we had last night was simple but delicious, and we enjoyed dinner so much that we came back for lunch today. There was so much seafood in the chowder this time, we could've eaten it with a fork. Both servers were friendly, hardworking, and very attentive. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area again.
