Super 8 by Wyndham Lloydminster

The internet was great, check-in with my cat was easy, and the front desk ladies were great. One was still in training but was trying very hard. My room was clean and warm, with a deep, relaxing tub. The bath towels were oddly small, though. They were big enough for me, so I’m not personally complaining, but anyone bigger than a woman’s size 4 might have trouble fitting in them. I’d recommend the place, especially for people with pets.

The bed was lumpy but clean, and there seemed to be enough pillows for two. The breakfast bar was good enough. The TV was so small, and it was a struggle to turn it on or change channels. A new remote didn’t improve the TV experience much. Could’ve used more towels too. The bedspread smelled like it had never been washed, so I took it off right away. I didn’t know the pool was open; it would’ve been nice to know.

Our reservation was wrong as soon as we arrived, and the pool hours we were told weren’t true. The ice machines didn’t work, there were cobwebs in the room corners, and it took half an hour to fill the tub. In the pool area we found crunchy underwear stuck to the floor, and it looked like it had been there a while. Most of the staff weren’t very polite, though Ashley and Ivy were exceptions. Our pet was meant to be included in the price, but even though that was a central reservation issue, the owners still wanted the money. The hotel lost a customer; we’ll never stay again. There’s a lot to learn about customer service here. Please do yourself a favor and don’t stay at this crack infested hotel.

The breakfast was delicious and the rooms were neat and tidy, but the stay was disappointing. We had to let the tub run for at least 4 minutes before hot water came through. The pool didn’t open until too late the next morning, so we couldn’t swim for long before checkout. The washing machine didn’t work well either.
