The front desk and service were great, and the location is good. We first stayed in the Loft Suite, room 911, but the loft's hot air register made it feel like a sauna while the main floor was freezing. The HVAC was impossible to control, so we had to choose between sweating upstairs or being cold downstairs. After several visits from the front desk and housekeeping, we asked to move. The new room was much better, but it wasn't what we'd booked. The Wi-Fi is awful. The hotel is old, with old toilets and plumbing and low ceilings, so tall people may want to avoid it. It seems they're trying to renovate, but it feels like lipstick on a pig. For an IHG property, this was very disappointing, and there are better places to stay. You may also want to check whether there's a tournament booked during your visit.

This was absolutely the best hotel stay our hockey team has had. The rooms were clean, and the staff were awesome and helpful, especially Danielle and Ash. I'd recommend it 10 out of 10.

I travel and stay in hotels often, and I've never seen anything so disorganized and disgusting. Large teams were checking in and the hotel was completely booked, but no effort was made to check anyone in before 3 pm. I called at 9 am to ask about an early check-in. They wouldn't even ask for my reservation, just said no. I arrived around 11:30 am and was told they'd call when my room was ready. Nobody called, so I came back at 3:20 pm. By 3:45, the whole hotel was checking in with only two people at the desk. People with disabilities couldn't access this setup. It's a barrier and a huge management failure. I'll never book here again.

Ash, the night manager, made a stressful situation much better. From the moment I needed help, Ash was professional, kind, and genuinely caring, and went out of the way to make sure I felt comfortable and supported. It's rare to find someone so dedicated to guests. The service made a lasting impression, and I had an excellent experience at Holiday Inn & Suites Candlewood Suites. Thank you, Ash, for the outstanding hospitality.
