Fortress Inn Louisbourg

This place was filthy and full of spiders. The soap dispenser was empty, the TV didn't work, there weren't enough outlets, and there was no microwave. It felt really run-down. Honestly the worst motel I've ever stayed in, and expensive compared with others.

For $148, I'd sooner stay in Sydney, even if it costs more. The room was noisy, the bed sagged toward the middle, and the hot water kept cutting out during my shower. Paint was peeling in several places, and the bathroom was disgusting. There are other places to stay, and you should choose one.

The location near Louisbourg Fortress is about the only good thing here. The tub leaked, and both the towel rack and air conditioner were broken. I also left my glasses behind, which was my own fault. When I called, they said they could mail them back if I paid postage, which was fine with me. But after a drawn-out month of calls, explanations, and promises from the owner, the glasses never came back. If the owner wasn't going to bother returning them, I wish they'd just said so.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, though dated and shabby. The restaurant was awful: most of the menu wasn't available, and there were no sauces or condiments. I won't be back.
