The setting is lovely and quiet, with beach access, a hammock, and a community fire. Our suite was bright, roomy, and beautifully designed, and the view made the upgrade feel worth the extra cost. The staff were wonderful too, responding quickly and letting us pay to move up from a standard room. Cleanliness was the letdown for our family of four, including a toddler and a baby. After our toddler got sick overnight, fresh sheets arrived the next day, but there was no replacement mattress protector. When I changed the bed, I found the one already on it was dirty underneath. The bathroom tile was the biggest concern: the part I cleaned looked spotless, while the rest was grimy. Dust and hair caught in the uneven stone and faux grass flooring, and the patio furniture needed a deeper clean. The suite could use a proper dusting too, to get rid of old spiders and webs. With more attention to cleanliness, The Breeze could easily be a five-star stay.

We still gave The Breeze Motel five stars and hope to come back. The location is excellent, and the room was well appointed, with a nicely decorated, well-equipped mini-kitchenette. The setup was different from what I expected. There's no office or front desk, and we didn't know there were 10 rooms. At night, we had to find Room 6 in the dark, so thank goodness for cellphone flashlights. You get a text with your room number and lock code, and when we needed help, a text brought an immediate response.

The outdoor amenities weren't set up very well, and the layout left us with very little privacy. The photos on hotels.com didn't accurately show the rooms or the location. The room was okay, but fairly rough and not comfortable, with basics like an iron or ironing board missing. It wasn't quite what I expected.

Being right on the water made the surroundings beautiful, and watching the tides was super fun. When we arrived hours before our reservation, a fantastic woman greeted us. Makayla and her team had our room ready within the hour and gave us great tips on places to eat and things to see.

The self-serve setup worked great, and the location is fantastic. My room was beautiful. I stayed in the king room, which, though it wasn't obvious from the reservation, had a microwave, an induction hotplate, and pans.
