The location was perfect, and it was wonderful to be able to eat downstairs. The river view is great, and the place feels more like an apartment than a hotel room. We enjoyed our stay, but I probably wouldn't come back because of the noise and the service issues. Music blasted late into the night, especially the bass, and I took a sleeping pill every night to get to sleep. They could move the speakers or turn the bass down so it doesn't carry upstairs. I paid the full amount in advance, then got a random $79 charge several days after arriving. There was no email about it, and I had to speak with the manager before he figured out it was a deposit. It was eventually returned, but the whole thing was aggravating. There was no soap, either, and service for guests felt lacking. The room had a kitchen, though it could use more cooking tools. The living room had no light for nighttime, and one sofa leg was broken, leaving a corner sagging to the floor. Replacing the sofa and adding a light would make the room much better.

The location is great, and the rooms are small but clean and nice. Still, I don't think I'd return because the service was so poor. There isn't really a reception desk, so you have to deal with restaurant employees. My room lock only worked about half the time. They charged me an extra $100 and later cancelled it, but never answered either of my two emails about it. I also had to insist that the restaurant call a manager before they honored the Couette et Pizza promo, which was supposed to include a pizza meal downstairs. Nobody there seemed to know about it. They gave us a hairdryer with a European electric cord, too. The place has potential, but it needs a new owner or manager. This isn't a way to run a service business.

The 2 pm check-in was a big plus, and the rooms were a great deal for the price. Very clean and welcoming, with none of the microphone music audible. We’ll definitely come back. It’d be helpful to have parking spots reserved for room guests.

We were in room 5, a cozy space with its own charm and a comfortable bed and bedding. There were plenty of towels, extra pillows, and blankets, so everything we needed had been thoughtfully provided. The room is right in downtown Magog, with a pub and Italian restaurant downstairs. A great find.
