Motel de la Pente Douce

The kitchenette was the one good part, along with the two beds. We’d planned to camp, but rain made us look for a cheap place to sleep before enjoying the area the next day. Then we were charged $170 for the night. The motel is so outdated, the pool is green, and the shower is shady. I didn’t expect much from a two-star motel, but seeing the bill left me outraged. This is a ripoff! I paid $100 plus for a four-star hotel in Porto Portugal, with a delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast. When we asked about the rooms advertised at $90, they said those only have one bed. PS: You can check my pictures. I forgot to remove the filters, so they don’t look as bad as it was in reality.

The owners, a couple, are nice, and the place is very quiet, great for getting a night’s rest. There’s a big yard and lots of land. The rooms are comfy, clean, and basic, which is about what I expected for the price. The bathroom is the one part that could use some improvement.

I’m fond of vintage motor inns, and this one has a lot of charm. The room’s interior has been updated, the linens were clean and modern, and the bed was comfortable. Nice touch having wine glasses in the room. One thing to know about motels around here is that reception closes early, and there’s no way to call for help. I was glad the friendly staff welcomed me, even though they seemed sleepy.

The room was clean and had a nice fridge, and they offer free ice. The location works well for doing things in Magog or Orford. The lady was very nice and let me check out later without an extra fee. I also appreciated that they spaced guests out instead of cramming everyone together. Not a bad place for the money. I really enjoyed my stay and would go back. Thank you.
