Manitou Motor Inn

The supermarket next door had a good selection for a small town, and there’s a restaurant and bar attached to the motel. I stayed for two weeks, though the room was small and there was no microwave in it, so I had to use the one in the hallway. The woman running the place tried her best to help, but I found her hard to understand. The mattress was well past its usable life and stayed indented after I got up. They turned it around so the dip was at the foot instead of the head, but that made no difference.

The town is nice, and my room was okay. I’ve stayed in worse places, though this wasn’t the best one I’ve been in. I didn’t use the drawers because they needed a thorough vacuuming or cleaning. There’s no microwave or coffee pot or kettle in the rooms, so bring something if you want tea or coffee. The microwave is out in the hallway.

Lunch worked out well here. I had the light quesadillas, which were just the right size, while my husband and grandma got burgers with patties so huge they looked like three in one. The restaurant is a nice little spot, and our server was really friendly. Service was great.

The attached restaurant’s breakfast was a nice bonus. The “homemade” hashbrowns were delicious. The place itself is clean and basic, and great value.
