Sandman Inn McBride

The staff were excellent and very polite, and the bed was comfortable. There was also a freezer where we could store our cooler and keep the fish frozen. But this wasn’t what I’d expect from a Sandman Hotel. The room was very hot and stuffy, with no air conditioning, portable or otherwise, and the windows wouldn’t open. There was an oscillating fan, but its base was broken so it wouldn’t stand up. With no one at the front desk from 11pm to 7am, we couldn’t call for help. I think my husband booked a queen, but we got a double. The coffee was a cinnamon blend that didn’t taste good; regular coffee for the machine would have been better.

A very peaceful night's sleep, which is what matters to me, and great service at the front desk. I was heading west into BC and needed a convenient place to stay. The Sandman fit the bill, and I enjoyed the night there.

We stayed during the first week of June, and this review is a month late. It’s an older hotel, but very clean and comfortable, and I’d recommend it for clean, affordable accommodation. The new managers are awesome. My friend liked the feel of one of the kitchenette mugs and wanted to buy it, but the lovely manager from Spain gave her a brand new one. Thanks so much for being kind. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, though we heard from others that it was very good.

I’m here for work from all the way in MB. The rooms are clean and the air conditioning works. The kitchenettes are a little outdated, but have everything I need to cook a home cooked meal and save on eating out. The internet is on the slow side, which is my only real complaint. I’d definitely stay again.
