We were charged $154 a night plus tax, even though we’d been told the rate was $119. When we called to ask about the difference, they said the rate was in the contract we signed. The manager kept telling us to read it and wasn’t willing to listen. Check your bill carefully if you stay here. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly, but there’s no breakfast, amenities, or staff on site to justify that price. I wouldn’t stay again, and that was an absolutely garbage experience.

I had a really nice time here, and it’s a friendly place with clean rooms and fantastic water pressure. After three days on the road, though, I would’ve liked a bath, but there’s no plug for the tub, so it seems they expect guests to shower. The pool is broken and there’s no dining service, although amenities are close by. I understand the staff shortage is happening across the country, so I don’t blame them for that. A few extras would make the place better.

They’ve been making updates each time I’ve come back over the years, and my room this time had a clean, fully renovated bathroom. The hotel is easy to spot from the highway, and I’ve always found the prices reasonable. They’ll even try to negotiate depending on your stay and do their best to help. Staff are welcoming and happy to provide information, and they really try to sort things out when an issue comes up. Breakfast is basic but there was plenty; if something ran out, I only had to ask and they’d make more. It met all my needs while I was in Melville.

The place is pretty dated, which shows in the room price, and breakfast choices were limited. Still, our room was clean and the staff were VERY friendly, always greeting us and getting us what we needed. We were happy with the stay and would come back if we needed to. Just don’t expect luxury.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and all the services we needed were nearby. There’s a grocery store about a five-minute walk away, with other shops and services in the same area. Restaurants and fuel are right across the street. I hadn’t been back since it was a Howard Johnson, and I had no complaints this time.
