Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mont Tremblant

We visited with our cat, Lucky, and he seemed comfortable and secure. The housekeeping was perfect, and the continental breakfast was good. The hotel is clean and nice, right in the center of St. Jovite and close to Mont Tremblant. Every receptionist was helpful and kind, especially William and Nicole. The outdoor hot Sauna was amazing with the snow and -20 degree weather. Hope to see you again on our next visit to Mont Tremblant.

The extra $100 plus tax for a Friday or Saturday booking was never mentioned when I called to reserve. I only found out after spotting the charge on my credit card and asking about it. I booked through Tuango, and the price had seemed fair. They first gave us a room for guests with impaired mobility, saying it was the only one "available," then offered another room if I wanted one. Breakfast was very poor, just boiled eggs, bagels, and yogurt, which wasn’t what I expected from this kind of hotel. The walls were so thin we heard everything in the hallway. I felt we were treated as lesser guests because we booked through Tuango. Very disappointed, and I definitely won’t return.

The pool and hot tub were a big hit with the kids, especially after long, freezing days on the mountain. As a budget-friendly ski hotel, this place worked well for what we needed. The rooms were clean and a decent size, with a small kitchenette and microwave for warming food after skiing. The bathroom vent is loud, though. Breakfast is basic slope fuel: make-your-own Belgian waffles, okay coffee, orange juice, and bagels with cream cheese. The hard-boiled eggs were a bit rubbery, but that didn’t bother me much. If you expect a Michelin-star breakfast, you haven’t checked what kind of place this is. It’s a good base before going into Mont-Tremblant Village. There are two restaurants and bars right in the parking lot, about 20 steps away, and both are very good. I reviewed them separately. Affordable and practical, and it does its job.

The cold pool water, especially at night, kept my family from enjoying what should have been an important amenity. The water slide was fun for my kids, but the pool itself was unusable for us. In winter, guests especially expect warmer water. The hotel was clean, and the staff were welcoming and professional. Breakfast, though, was outstanding. The food was excellent, and the people working in the breakfast area were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make our mornings special. Their warm, professional service made a real difference to our stay. I hope the hotel addresses the pool heating for future guests.
