We were five and had two queen beds plus a sofa bed. The staff were nice, and they were quick with towels, coffee, and other room service requests. The kitchen was a good size, with food stores about 10 minutes away and a convenience store in the village. The location was amazing, right among the shops, restaurants, snacks, coffee, and maple on a stick. The skating rink and lift loading point were right there too, and the lift takes you to the mountain base. When the mountain closed, we could ski and board back down. The hotel had gear lockers, and using the hot tub and sauna was a welcome perk. We’d like to return and stay at the same hotel.

Pretty good for the price. You pay nightly for underground parking. For the ski lockers, bring a lock or use one they provide for free. It’s partly ski-in/ski-out. In tower one, on the left, the lockers let out in front of the gondola to the hill lifts. In tower two, they let out at the bottom of the green run from the upper village. Tower one means an easier start and harder finish. Tower two is the reverse, harder start and easy finish. The elevator in tower one is a little nicer than tower two’s. The rooms are a pretty standard hotel setup.

The rooms, location, and amenities are great, but our experience with the hotel was so awful it wiped out those positives. I’m a frequent traveler and have never seen this level of incompetence, prejudice, or lack of empathy toward paying guests. At the time I first wrote this, I was at Ermitage Du Lac across the street, where they had a last-minute room at a competitive price and were kind about what happened. A month and two revisions later, I’m staying at the Chateau Morrit, five minutes from the Cabriolet, with arguably nicer rooms and amenities for much less. I was on a university ski club trip. Some rooms in the group were loud and people partied at night, which can happen when a hotel books a large group of young students. My room wasn’t one of them. I was out until 1am, and my roommates were asleep when I got back. I made pasta and offered some to friends, giving them my room number and asking them to be discreet, pick it up at the door, and stay quiet. I have the text receipts. A few people went to the wrong door and knocked loudly enough to wake unrelated guests. The hotel blamed me instead of holding those people accountable. Without warning or hearing my side, staff kicked me and my roommates out and kept my deposit. One roommate was asleep and another was watching TV. Management later said we’d been warned twice. My roommates, who were complete strangers to me, all say nobody came to our door. If security had knocked or warned us, someone would have noticed. The hotel chose to believe one guard over several guests who say we weren’t warned or making noise. They also refused to refund the night we were forced out of the room we’d paid for in cash through the club, so there was no compensation through my credit card company either. We were put out late at night in a ski town, without notice, investigation, or compassion. Before leaving, we cleaned the room very thoroughly because we didn’t want to give them an excuse to keep the deposit. They kept it anyway. Some friends who were kicked out in similar circumstances couldn’t find rooms, had to cut short a ski trip they’d waited almost a year for, and ended up alone on a two-hour bus ride in the dark. Students can be young and inconsiderate, but that doesn’t justify this kind of retaliation. We did not have a party, damage the room, smoke inside or on the balcony, yell, play music, or have people over. I went outside the hotel to smoke. We did not do anything that could justify kicking us out. We also weren’t refunded the night we lost. If this is how they handle a misunderstanding, I’d hate to see how they handle something that really matters. They’ve lost my business, and, to be honest, likely that of many club members too. I’ll also be telling friends and family who ask about Tremblant to stay far away.

We were on a school ski trip. On the first night, we got a warning about noise and were told another warning would come before a fine. We quieted down and carried on with the weekend, but the next day the hotel called to say we couldn’t stay in our room anymore. They kept the money for the night we didn’t stay and fined us $300. They accused us all of being drunk and not remembering the warnings, but wouldn’t show us the security footage they said showed guards coming to our room multiple times. There was no damage, so I don’t see why they kept the second night’s payment. If you’re a group of young people staying here, you may already have a target on your back. They’ll find bullshit reasons to kick people out, as happened to us and other groups on the trip. In response to the manager: Leaving for the bar at 10pm counts as partying all night? We didn’t smoke on the balcony. Like I said, management loves to lie and accuse people of things that didn’t happen. Makes me wonder why they wouldn’t show the footage of security supposedly warning us multiple times. Oh, right, they wanted to keep our money.

The only real plus for me was the convenient location. For the price, the stay felt nowhere near worth it. I’ve paid half as much elsewhere and felt like I was in a five-star hotel; this place felt like two stars or worse. Getting checked in took 45 minutes. It took ages to enter our information, and nobody properly explained where our room was after we parked. We got lost in the underground garage and ended up back at tower 1. The front desk man saw us return but let us wander around. When we went back to ask, he said our room was in the other building. Why not tell us that at the start? There was no way to contact the desk from the room either, so we had to walk between towers and wait in line just to talk to someone. The pullout couch felt like a pile of springs. The sauna had no working light, so you sat in pitch-black darkness, which was kind of freaky. The hot tub was cramped and tiny. Tower 2 had one very slow elevator, so I often took the stairs from the top floor because it was faster. One elevator for a whole tower isn’t enough, and there wasn’t even a lobby in tower 2, which seemed odd. Checkout took 30 minutes because they were doing early check-ins. I’d requested an early check-in a month ahead and didn’t get one myself. They should probably prioritize people checking out before 11am while everyone is still trying to leave.
