The location is great, with good restaurants nearby and Notre Dame Basilique just two or three blocks away, along with plenty of other historic sights. Before I arrived, Isaac gave me clear instructions and was really kind when confirming my check-in. Since I was getting in after midnight, I was worried about being able to enter, but they sent me a code the day before, which made things easier and felt safer given the late hour. Five stars from me.

Isaac at the front desk handled an awkward situation between me and another guest really professionally. Dorm stays can get tricky, but the hostel wasn't at fault. My one suggestion for management is to spread people across more dorm rooms instead of packing them full. It might make cleaning harder, but everyone would have more room and a quieter stay. The location is also a big plus: Chinatown is close for cheap Asian food, and St-Laurent and St-Denis are an easy walk from here. I had a great stay and would recommend it.

Free coffee and tea all day is a nice touch, and I met a lot of lovely people here. It's easy enough to get some time to yourself, though the place can be social when you're in the mood. The staff are friendly and hilarious, especially Issac, who's always a joy to see. Everything was very clean. I only took a star off the room rating because the beds are a little uncomfortable, and getting up to the top bunks can be awkward. Otherwise, no complaints.

ALT Hostel made for a really nice stay. The place is clean, relaxed, and easy on the budget, in a lovely part of town near the Old Port. There are plenty of fun streets and cafés nearby. A great base for a visit to Montréal.

The female dorm was roomy and quiet, and the toilets and showers stayed clean. There’s an equipped kitchen where you can make your own meals, and the hostel has a lovely atmosphere for meeting people. The staff were very friendly and helped me with everything, even before I arrived in Canada. The location is hard to beat, right across from Bonsecours Market and a short walk from a metro station and most of Old Montreal’s tourist sights. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
