The building was quiet and felt safe, and the front desk staff were friendly. The room and washroom could have been cleaner, but for the price, the stay was great. I liked having a sink in the room, and the air conditioning worked well. The location is especially handy: one block from Ste Catherines, the metro, and Bell Centre, right at the foot of Crescent Street with its bars and restaurants, and less than a block from the 747 airport bus.

For one night, this was okay. Thinking of it as a hostel, having my own queen bed was nice. As a hotel, sharing the washroom was a downside. There was a sink in my room, so brushing my teeth was easy, but after a shower you’d have to walk through the corridors, which could bother some people on a longer stay. That’s not my main issue, though. There was plenty of closet storage, plus extra comforters, nightstands, and a mini fridge. One nightstand wouldn’t open very far because it hit a comforter. I also had to unplug two bedside lamps and the TV to get two outlets for my phone and laptop. It was a minor hassle, but for a longer visit I’d probably have needed an extension cord. Better outlet planning would help, since people usually have at least one device.

The staff were very helpful, and it was easy to get to the metro and nearby shops. The room was clean, though the pillow wasn’t very comfortable, so bring your own. The air conditioner struggled and left the room a bit stuffy. Still, it’s a good budget option if you want to stay downtown.

The hotel helped me out when I realized I didn’t have an adapter for American outlets, which I appreciated. The sixth floor also has a kitchen and a lavatory. My room was spacious and very clean, with an empty fridge and a TV. There weren’t many channels, and it felt a little too cool for me, but it was bearable. I stayed one night and would recommend it. It’s for a good cause.

Clean rooms and a fairly low price in a nice downtown area, with good connections around the city. The bathrooms and toilets are shared on each floor, and there are too few of them. At busy times, you may have to wait.
