Bienvenue B&B

I came across this B&B by chance and am really glad I did. Carole and her husband were wonderful hosts, about as kind as you could hope for. The rooms are simple, some with private bathrooms and others sharing one, but comfortable and great value for the location. Breakfast isn't being served atm because of covid, which matches what I've found at other B&Bs I've stayed at in Quebec recently. Would I come back? Definitely.

We've stayed at Bienvenue twice, once in October 2017 and again this past weekend in July 2019. The rooms are somewhat sparse and worn but comfortable. During a particularly hot weekend, the small window AC could barely cool ours. Breakfast is no longer offered, though on our previous visit we got coupons for two excellent local cafes. The location is a big draw: restaurants and cafes on Duluth, St. Denis, Rachel, and St. Laurent are all a 10-15 minute walk away. The major attractions are nearby too, while the street itself still feels local. Service was very good, especially this time. We brought bikes to Canada, and Carole and her husband offered, without us even asking, a secure place to lock them overnight. After we got home, we realized we'd left a computer charging cord in the room. One quick call and they're mailing it back. Thanks!

We had a great four-night stay. The place is in a charming, cool neighborhood, with bus access and a short walk to the train. Our room was clean and comfortable, with what we needed. There was no A/C, but a fan kept the temperature nice. The shared bathrooms were very clean, and the staff were super nice and available. I really recommend it.

The hosts were amazing and went out of their way to help, and the place had a very homey feel. Free street parking on a residential street was convenient. Breakfast came as $5 vouchers for a restaurant a block away, usable any time. The bathrooms were definitely clean; the cheaper rooms share a bathroom on the floor, but I never found it occupied. Our room had no AC, though the two fans were enough. The location is great, less than half a mile from Big in Japan, on a very busy street. A block away there's another busy street with lots of shops and restaurants. Chinatown, the Basillica, and the port area are about a mile away. The Biodome is farther, around 3 miles, but if you don't mind walking, the beautiful walk takes less than an hour. I'd definitely stay again.
