Hotel Arena Palace Montreal

Our stay was a disaster, and we didn’t even spend the night. The place was dirty, and there was a MOUSE roaming around our room. When we raised it with the manager, he said, “that is normal, this is an old building”. I’ve stayed in plenty of old buildings, and that doesn’t excuse having a mouse in the rooms. We checked out after that, but the manager refused a refund or compensation and wasn’t understanding. 0/10. I’m fine with a budget hotel, but mice running around is where I draw the line. Avoid this place at all costs.

It feels like going back to the 1990s. Everything is old and dusty, though it all worked. The space is incredibly tiny, especially the toilet, but it’s warm and enough for a night or two. For the price, I’d say it would be great at $30 a night.

The room was tidy, and the locked entrance with a doorbell felt secure. Breakfast was free from 7 to 11, with toast, cereal, orange juice, tea, and coffee. The shared washroom sink was a little dirty, though I had a sink in my room too. The neighborhood stays lively late, with clubbing and people hanging around, so there was quite a bit of noise from the window and some homeless people nearby. Fine for one night, but I wouldn't head out at night unless I had to.

Clean, very basic accommodations in an old residential-style hotel, right in the Village. For the price, I'd give it five stars for value, though there's no value category.
