The manager was very nice and understood my concerns. The rooms were clean, and I’m pretty sure that if there were bed bugs, some guests would have brought them in. Still, I chose not to risk it and didn’t stay, even though the booking was non-refundable. I saw what looked like bed bug droppings on the bed’s box spring. There was also a funky, strong disinfectant smell all over the hotel. It’s not for me, but it might suit people on a low budget. Definitely a low-end 2* hotel.

The so-called continental breakfast was ridiculous, and I’m not sure when they actually clean. I didn’t see anyone cleaning over 24 hours. The outside wasn’t welcoming, and I nearly slipped three times before I got to the front desk. The agent there showed no kindness or welcome. The room was small, and it took me a few minutes to figure out the lighting. 😄 The bathtub was dirty and, worst of all, wouldn’t drain. It was a non-smoking room, but smoke smell filled the hallway. 😠

We booked a nonsmoking room but got one that smelled of smoke, with blood stains in the bathroom. We became fearful for our lives and found another proper hotel in Montreal to stay at. I’d give this place a quarter star if I could, but the rating system doesn’t allow it. This is not a hotel, just an H without the rest of the word. I definitely don’t recommend it, without any doubt.

The price and location were great, and the room was tidy and neat. I’d come back if prices stayed reasonable. Breakfast was very simple, but I liked having free coffee available in the lobby 24 hours a day. I wish there’d been a mini fridge in the room and more towels in the bathroom, since the booking was for four people. There’s no free parking. You can use nearby streets or a public parking lot three blocks away.

We got a super-discounted smoking room through Expedia and didn’t pay extra for nonsmoking, though I prefer a nonsmoking room. It smelled strongly of cigarettes, so I slept with my head under a sheet. Still, the room was warm, relatively clean, had firm bedding, and the door closed fully and locked with a latch. No bugs, and the bathtub looked clean. There were some cigarette burns on the sheets, but I wasn’t paying for a 3 star hotel. The price was great, the front desk staff were nice, and it was pet friendly. We forgot to mention our pet at check-in, but they said there’d be a fee and let us pay at checkout. I also had free parking from the side walk. We arrived at 3am and were told checkout was at noon, with late checkout available for an additional fee by the hour.
