Hyatt Place Montreal - Downtown

We really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back. The elevator situation was inconvenient at times, but that was the only drawback. The staff were amazing throughout, professional, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and looked after.

The interiors were beautiful and clean, and the staff were super friendly. We had a really good stay and would probably return. Noise carried from the upstairs neighbor and people in the halls, though, and it woke me several times overnight. I also wish the main doors stayed accessible after 11 o'clock. As things are, you have to walk around the building and go down through the parking garage to get into the hotel.

The staff were polite, friendly, and accommodating. They let us check out late, subject to availability, which we appreciated. The indoor pool matched the photos, and the dry sauna was a great way to unwind after a long day in the city. Our room and washroom were clean and well maintained, though the blankets felt too thin and not warm enough for winter. The location is convenient, a short drive from Old Montreal. We did see homeless people outside in the surrounding downtown area, as some reviews had mentioned, but it didn't affect our stay. Parking was the biggest frustration. The spaces are very small and tight, and the hotel charges an extra $30 per night. With nearly 30 floors but only two parking levels, that felt unreasonable. The cleanliness, staff, and amenities were very good, but the parking issue kept this from being five stars.

Woke up early for my train and caught a beautiful sunrise over the St. Lawrence. Even with the early start, I feel well rested, thanks in part to a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and spoke English. I love the pool, gym, and breakfast bar. The hotel is beside the gay village and very close to a busy Metro hub. On my summer visit, there were lots of Bixi bikes nearby and plenty of cycle tracks and bike lanes.
