Breakfast was surprisingly well stocked and one of the better parts of the stay, though it’s served cafeteria-style alongside students in a student residence setting. Whether that suits you may depend on your age and expectations. The building looks impressive outside, but inside the rooms felt more like dorms or hospital rooms, and mine had a strange smell. The beds were moderately comfortable, nothing special. The biggest problem was getting in: security sits before the hotel desk, and it wasn’t clear they were separate. I asked to leave my bags and was told no. When I asked what I should do with my luggage, the answer was basically that they didn’t care. It felt dismissive and needlessly rude. The hotel does have luggage storage, but security blocked me from reaching the actual hotel staff, despite apparently not representing the hotel. I ended up dragging my bags around for four hours. Either security and hotel staff aren’t communicating well, or guests are being given wrong information. The hotel has apologized for the issue.

Most of the staff at campus one were kind, helpful, and pleasant, and the majority of my interactions with them were positive. My experience with the general manager, Jennifer, was consistently difficult. During move-out she found two small marks on the wall. I understand that damage can mean a charge, but the way she dealt with it felt rude and confrontational. She didn’t calmly explain the process or next steps. Her tone seemed condescending and spiteful, she muttered obscenities, and called it “very unfortunate” in a passive-aggressive way, making an already stressful move-out worse. After I paid, I asked if we could talk briefly. She agreed, but started working at her computer and avoided eye contact as soon as I began speaking. I’d hoped for a constructive conversation about handling these situations more calmly, but I didn’t feel heard. Communication and professionalism matter, especially during tense move-out inspections. I hope this feedback helps improve consistency in how residents are treated.

I lived here for six months, and it was one of the worst experiences I can imagine. Moving out, a room inspector charged me $75 over the tiniest chip in the paint. They’ll serve borderline inedible, undercooked chicken without a second thought, but suddenly a speck of paint gets treated like a major issue. It also makes you wonder what the paint is covering. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s mold behind it, though that’s speculation. I had allergy problems the whole time I lived here. The elevators were constantly out of service and took ages to fix. In a building with 800 people, having just one working elevator made getting to my room miserable. I lost count of waiting 10 to 15 minutes just to get downstairs, about as long as management takes to pretend to fix it. The place looks decent on the surface, but living there is another story. Save yourself the headache and money. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. The meal plan is mandatory, by the way.

Hello, I’m following up about the $1240 reimbursement that has been outstanding since October 2025, after my lease ended in August 2025. Despite several exchanges and assurances that the payment had been processed, I still haven’t received the money or any proof of transfer. The delay has now gone beyond 8 months, which is unacceptable. I understand you may be busy, but this is a significant amount for me as a student, and I need to know what’s happening. Please confirm whether the transfer was completed and send the transaction confirmation. If something is holding it up, please let me know as soon as possible. If I don’t hear anything by next week, I may need to consider further steps. I’d much rather resolve this amicably without escalation, and trust you’ll treat it with the urgency it needs. Thank you for your prompt response. Kind regards,
Madison C.
After a frightening and unfortunate Airbnb experience on our first visit to Montreal, campus1 booked us their last room at the last minute for a very fair price. They saved us from what could have been a terrible situation. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly, gave us meal tickets for a free hot buffet breakfast each morning in the mess hall, and helped us feel safe throughout. You need a key card to pass through several security checkpoints, including the main entrance, where dedicated security staff are there 24/7. Our apartment-style dorm was clean and soundproof, with a nice view of part of the city. It had two separate bedrooms, each with a twin XL bed, dresser or wardrobe, and desk. The dorm beds were comfortable enough to sleep in, and they were clean and safe. The place is very accessible to transit, with plenty of great cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We have no complaints and will definitely consider staying again on our next trip.
