We found the staff very friendly. The location is great too, with Jazz Fest and restaurants in walking distance one way and the Old Port the other. It’s an old building, so expect squeaky floors and plenty of paint on the woodwork rather than a brand new interior. That’s just how it is. During our stay, construction across the street affected the rooms at the front of the house.
Betina was a pleasure to talk with and gave us good suggestions for places beyond the usual tourist spots. We stayed on a weekday in the off season, so the building was mostly ours, and it was a comfortable visit. It’s a small B&B a little off the beaten path, with some history to it. There was construction happening, but we were out most of the day and barely noticed.
The woman I spoke to about the problem seemed understanding when I explained and asked to cancel my reservation. I didn’t stay, though: both the inside and outside window in my room were open in -9C weather, and I couldn’t get them shut because the locks wouldn’t line up. Trying left me dirty, since the sill was FILTHY. The room was pretty dirty in general, with several cobwebs on the wall, though the bathroom looked okay. If the open window hadn’t raised a security concern, I might have accepted the dirt and run-down condition for the price.
A cozy B&B right in Montreal. The rooms were nice, breakfast was good, and it’s just a few blocks from the old town and metro stops.
Breakfast was nice, though not as grand as the website makes it sound. It also felt a bit odd that nobody was there to receive us. We could never tell whether we were alone in the house, and that got a little creepy at times.
