La Maison Du Mile-End

I booked through Expedia but never stayed, and they still charged me. There's no staff on site, everything is virtual, and nobody answers when you need help. The check-in is frustrating and the service is nonexistent. They took my money without providing what I paid for. I'd strongly warn anyone considering this place to stay away.

Everything was unbelievably bad. We kept getting locked out of our rooms because of a terrible door system, and the accommodations were filthy, especially the bathroom. For three days, the two of us were given one incredibly dirty towel to share. There's a photo attached showing what it looked like when we got it.

For the price, my stay was unacceptable. This place has potential: the location is nice and the actual room is decent. But the service was terrible, the bathrooms were awful, and so many little problems made me want to find whoever I spoke to on the phone and have a serious sit-down. Calling this a "Bed and Breakfast" is a joke. The breakfast isn't cooked. You have to order it by 11pm the night before and cook it yourself. I wanted somewhere quiet and isolated where I could work. My room was right by the street and had no desk, which I admit is on me, but the website only has one picture for each room and the general amenities list doesn't tell you what each room includes. They should show more room photos and provide a map. There are rooms away from the street, and I wouldn't have chosen this one if I'd known. Getting in was tedious. There was no staff on site, so I had to figure out the keypad system on my own. I called staff and waited for an answer, then was told to find an email sent under a different address from the first one I received from "La Maison De Mile End". Apparently the place also goes by "Bernard Bed & Breakfast". After 10-20 minutes going through this while tired and cold, I got inside but couldn't find the room. I had to dig through the email again to learn it was downstairs. I shouldn't have had to put all that energy into finding my room when someone could have checked me in and shown me where to go. The bathroom was another mess. It was late, I was cold and tired, and the restroom trash looked rummaged through, with toilet paper on the floor and the lid off. The shower bath mat was soaking wet. I picked it all up myself. Then the toilet tank had no water and wouldn't flush. I used the upstairs toilet the next morning too, on 3/15/25, and it had the same problem. I ended up filling a kitchen recycling-bin trash bag with water to flush it. No guest should have to do that. The bathtub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and the shower curtain was crusty. I'm running out of room, but you get the gist. The pictures and videos may be gross, but they show the honest situation. Best of luck to whoever runs this place. I hope they come to understand the value of serving others and taking pride in their work.

I stayed three nights at La Maison Du Mile-End, and it was incredibly disappointing. There was no front desk or clear contact point, so communication was nearly impossible. I sent five emails about different concerns and got just one response, with no useful solutions. The shared bathroom was extremely dirty, with hair everywhere and no soap. I saw a cockroach, or a similar bug, in my room. Although breakfast was supposedly offered, I never got any because no one explained how to request it through the app. I was also charged unexpected cleaning fees that weren't shown when booking, despite the poor condition shown in the attached pictures. I raised all these issues by email but got no helpful reply. I DO NOT recommend this place.
