There were ants around, and the mini fridge in our room had old-looking leftover chicken in it. At breakfast, we liked the cheese and grapes, but the eggs were cold and the croissant was from Costco. The coffee machine often needed refilling, breakfast things ran out, and there was nobody around in the morning or evening to help. It felt more like a hostel or rooming house than a BnB. We chose the place because of its reviews, without realizing it had new owners. There was no longer a fresh breakfast or a couple living on site. We expected the usual BnB benefits to make up for less privacy and sharing a bathroom, but didn’t feel we got those benefits, and in hindsight would have booked a hotel. After checkout, we texted the provided number to ask about leaving our bags and got no reply. With no one there to ask, we eventually emailed and were told we could leave them until 2pm, then would have to pay for a “late check out.” Our train wasn’t until 5pm, so we used private luggage storage instead. We’d expect most places to hold bags until a guest’s train leaves. We happened to meet the new owner, who seemed nice. Hopefully these are just early business issues and get sorted out.

The room was clean and quiet, and the hosts were really kind. My partner and I spent a couple of winter nights here and had a great time. Breakfast was incredible, and the hot tub was fantastic. I’d definitely recommend it.

The basement room was good overall, though hauling our luggage up the stairs was a bit of a pain. It’s somewhat far from the city centre, but public transport is close by. Yener was a great host, very kind and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. We had a great stay.

We felt at home here, and the place was spotless. Yener was kind and helpful, quick to answer questions and easy to communicate with. We drove and found street parking beside the hotel without any trouble. The area felt very safe and made it easy to get around the city. Guimauve, their mascot, greeted us with a wagging tail at check-in. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal.
