Residence Carrefour Sherbrooke

The location was the main redeeming feature, and breakfast was a little better than at a typical hotel. Otherwise, this was one of the most disgusting places I've stayed. There was someone else's blood on the bathroom tissue box, the carpet was gross, the showers were stained, and things seemed to be falling apart. Wi-Fi was slow too. I found only one place to refill a water bottle, and they wouldn't let me fill it at night. When I asked the woman at the front if the tap water was definitely safe, she said, "probably."

The toilet in our room barely flushed, and the TV couldn't connect to the room Wi-Fi. Someone in another room found a rat and a water bottle under their bed. We also found a yellow gummy bear under one bed and a red one under the other. As soon as we walked in, the room smelled like an old hockey bag that had been used over 100 times. I could hardly recommend this hotel less.

I stayed in June 2024 and had a great experience for what it cost compared with nearby hotels. From booking through checkout, staff kept us updated about room readiness, servicing, and other details. The room had a TV you could cast to, daily room service, and free continental breakfast with a nice range of choices. The location was handy too, within a five-minute walk of subways, buses, and parking. The carpet wasn't in the best condition, and there was dust in some parts of the ceiling. Even so, it was a very good value for the price, and I'd definitely come back. I'm not sure whether management changed, but the reviews didn't match my own stay.

The people were kind and helpful, but the place was extremely dirty and didn't feel worth the price. I had to change rooms because it wasn't clean.
