Travelodge by Wyndham Moose Jaw

The lodge was really noisy at night. In the morning I started my truck and let it warm up; five minutes later it was stolen. I’d parked the truck and furniture trailer in front of cameras after the receptionist told me it was a safe area. Whatever you do, STAY AWAY.

I was a bit nervous about staying at such an old motel, but seeing the location and all the motorcycles out front gave me some comfort. Check-in was fantastically easy, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, with coffee, clean towels, and a comfortable bed. Nothing about the place was anything to get worked up over. It’s only a short walk to downtown, Crescent Park, restaurants, and the tourist spots. I’d recommend this hotel. Nothing wrong with this place.

Cigarette butts covered the parking lot, and our room smelled of cigarettes. It was very outdated, half the lights didn’t work, and the switches were barely attached. We stayed somewhere else. Spend the extra $30 and find another hotel.

Room 106 was a corner suite with a king bed in its own room, plus a queen bed, living room, and kitchen in the other area. It was updated, clean, and quiet. I could hear some movement upstairs, but that’s nothing unusual in an older hotel. We didn’t have any of the issues others mentioned, like bed bugs or knocks from undesirable people at 3am. I’m sure such things could happen in other rooms, but ours was perfect. For $318 for a Friday and Saturday night in late May, the suite with a kitchen was very reasonably priced. To me, you get what you pay for. At that price, if it’s clean and quiet, has hot water, and gives you privacy, then there’s nothing to complain about. You can spend double at one of the new hotels instead of comparing this older one at half the price. We had no issues in room 106, and the woman at the front desk was very kind. I gave it a 4 because it doesn’t have a free breakfast as advertised.
