Temple Gardens Hotel & Spa

We had booked more than a month ahead for February 15th, a spa night away for our mom group of six. At arrival, we were told there was no reservation for us. The hotel had booked it for February 13th instead. They had only got the name right, while the credit card, email, phone number, and date were all wrong. Whoever took the booking needs to learn to write information down correctly. They said there were no rooms left. The manager didn’t offer to find another hotel and seemed not to care about the reservation mix-up. Then she was going to charge us to use the spa because we weren’t hotel guests. The customer service was horrible, and the hotel itself was dated and run down. I’ll never return or recommend it. The owner’s reply made the customer service seem even worse. They made a snarky remark that the wrong email address meant we wouldn’t have received a confirmation, and that we might have noticed the incorrect date if we had. Really? If staff had recorded our information correctly, we would have received an email. Blaming the customer for their booking person getting everything wrong is absurd. I still strongly recommend people don’t waste their time here. The service is abysmal.

The male housekeeper was the one good part of our visit. I’m sorry I didn’t get his name, but he went above and beyond to find a solution for us. We’ve been coming for decades, but we won’t return until major changes are made. The room cost isn’t supported by the services. Thankfully, Dakota Dunes is opening something similar in Saskatoon, and we’ll support that. They’re renovating, but that doesn’t excuse not cleaning shared areas. We were in the newly renovated room area from mar 2-4/26, and the floors weren’t vacuumed once. At the outdoor pool area, the tile is crumbling badly and bits are getting into the water. Walking in the pool and stepping on concrete pieces really wrecks the vibe. We asked for extra pillows and got the runaround for over a day. When we asked in person a third time, since the guest services line was always busy, we were told the hotel had no spare pillows because they’d all been sent to the reserve. What hotel has no extra pillows for guests? For a healing waters spa, you’d think they’d consider that guests might have health issues and need an extra pillow or two for supported sleep.

The food was so good we ate there the whole time, and we felt safe in both the hotel and parking lot. The service was probably the best I’ve ever experienced, with no issues at all. The spa staff were SUPER courteous and professional, and I’d go every fricken day if I could. Thank you Elizabeth!! We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was AMAZING, especially the out-of-this-world tub. It might be a little hard to get into if you’re short, lol. The location was WOW, and I think that speaks for itself. There’s nothing I’d want changed, though it would’ve been cool to have help bringing in the bags if that were possible. I totally understand why that wasn’t offered. Thank you Temple Gardens!!!

The spa itself was fantastic, and our room was comfortable, though very hot with no way to adjust the temperature. It needs some upkeep. I left personal belongings in our room on Dec 11th. I called the evening of the 12th and the 13th, then my friend called on the 16 and 17 because I was leaving the country. A friend from Moose Jaw also called and went to the spa twice. Each time we were sent to leave a message for housekeeping, but housekeeping never returned a call and management never followed up. I’d really like my things returned. Feb 27. Still waiting for some hotel concession.
