Arundel Mansion

I’d stayed here once before and had no problem that time. This year, I contacted Myrna at the end of March about a June booking. She quoted me a price and asked me to call back to pay the deposit. I called and texted over the next two months, and emailed too, but got no response. Later I checked the website and saw the price had doubled, presumably because of FIFA. I’m coming to New Westminster for my mom’s funeral, and now I can’t afford to stay there. The Inn at the Quay is fully booked as well. A price increase is one thing, but being ignored instead of being told she wanted more money was rude and extremely unprofessional.

The room was huge, more like a one-bedroom apartment, with a full kitchen and lots of space. The bed was really comfortable, and the complimentary wine was a nice extra. I spent two nights here and loved the place. It’s an old, impressive building, close to the train as well as plenty of places to eat and shop. For the nightly price, it’s great value.

Having a kitchen and being close to the SkyTrain, a grocery store, and a pharmacy make this place especially handy for me. I’ve stayed in several of the suites over a number of visits, and each one has its own charm and decor. The hosts are responsive, and I think it’s great value. I’m fond of staying here and hope to keep coming back.

So much room in this place!!!!! I’m glad I got to stay in a 100-year-old building, it feels full of memories. The shops and metro are nearby too, which is really convenient. I’ll definitely visit again.
