Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa

The Falls view and location are excellent, but the hotel charges a lot for them. The rooms are decent, though they look like they haven’t been updated since the hotel was built. We arrived late at night and had no trouble with the check-in staff. The other services, especially food and beverage, were a disaster. Room service came with plastic plates and cutlery, and the room had paper coffee cups. At breakfast we asked to replace the potatoes with a few slices of fruit. The chef refused, apparently because fruit costs more than fried potatoes, and no one even told us the request wouldn’t be accommodated. I’m a Bonvoy member and have stayed at Marriott properties around the world, but I’ve never had such a disappointing experience. For a $400 room, proper cutlery and a simple fruit substitution shouldn’t be too much to ask. What if I’d been allergic to the potatoes?

The best part was seeing Horseshoe Falls from the room, both in daylight and lit up at night. The view, along with the friendly staff, made our visit memorable, and we’d recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Niagara Falls. Our check-in was smooth even though we arrived early. Gelene at the front desk kept us updated and made sure we were comfortable while the room was being prepared. Erika was training with her, and both were professional, friendly and eager to help. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy too. Breakfast was decent and had a good variety. The hotel also gave us useful vouchers, including one for Colluma Light Therapy, which was a nice addition to the spa experience. Everyone we encountered was consistently helpful.

The food was incredible, and the views were even better. Across our four nights, everyone treated my family wonderfully, from the people at the valet and front desk to housekeeping, restaurant servers, bartenders and gift shop staff. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived. The only improvement I can think of would be opening the pedestrian bridge closest to the gift shop. We enjoyed the stay very much, and this place is five stars for sure!

The worn-out sofa bed caused me significant back pain this morning and ruined my trip. Its mattress is old and structurally defective, and it’s unacceptable for a reputable hotel to leave furniture in that condition in a guest room. I’m currently staying here and am deeply disappointed. This property falls well short of Marriott’s brand standards. For the price at the Marriott Fallsview, I expected premium quality and basic comfort, but got a substandard room and physical pain. I’m waiting for management to make this right; as of now, I strongly advise staying elsewhere. When I contacted the night shift for help, the employees tried to be polite but had no solution and didn’t seem equipped to help. They could do nothing for us, which reflects poor management and a serious lack of resources. Don’t stay here if you value your comfort or health.
