Harbour House

We spent seven days here and found it easy to walk to Old Town, though shuttle service is available too. We visited wineries, Niagara, and NOTL. The staff were great throughout, and the little conversations where people remembered details about us made the place feel especially welcoming. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast and the welcome hour with drinks, snacks, and good company. We plan to return.

The bed was unbelievably hard, and my partner and I both woke up hurting. That alone made this one of my worst stays in NOTL. The bedrooms feel dated, and the jetted tub looks like it hasn’t been repaired or updated in a long time. On the plus side, the pillows were good and the continental breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly, but the advertised AI texting option went unanswered whenever we tried it, whether we were asking about breakfast times, a pickup from dinner, or how to use appliances in the room. I’ve used Ivy at other hotels without trouble. The TV also didn’t support Netflix or other streaming, which seemed unusual these days. The stay felt mediocre for the price, and we won’t be back.

Walter drove our shuttle that evening and was such a kind, friendly person. He made a great night even better. We also loved the wine and cheese happy hour, and breakfast the next morning was great. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the card waiting in our beautiful room was a really sweet surprise. From arrival onward, the staff were welcoming and thoughtful, and the whole stay felt just right. We’ll be back and can’t wait for another visit.

The comfortable king bed and the quiet spot away from the main road are still positives, and the front desk staff were polite and friendly as always. But after several repeat visits, Room 201, the Cayuga Room, lowered my opinion of Harbour House. The room was cold when we arrived, with no carpet, so we ran the window heater, fireplace, and bathroom ceiling shower heater while waiting for it to warm up. The heater fan was loud and kept running all night even after the room reached temperature. Light from the hallway came through a gap under the entrance door, just feet from the bed. There were only two USB charging ports. The wiring for the phone, TV, and cable box was left in messy piles, with the TV cable coming out of an open wall box. The bathroom sink’s cold tap didn’t work, leaving the water too hot for washing hands or brushing teeth. I don’t know why housekeeping didn’t catch it, or whether it was noticed and simply left unrepaired. The coffee stand had big chips in its white finish, and the inside of the shower and toilet room door was badly worn.
