John shared plenty of useful information about the area and was quick to respond to texts when we needed him. We stayed at John's B&B for three nights in August 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was clean and well appointed, with a comfortable bed. It was handy having the coffee and fridge area for a morning cup and storing goodies from the day. The shower was a little small, but worked well overall. We'd recommend it and stay again. Thanks, John.

A heads-up for anyone returning: the experience at Matisse has changed under new ownership. We stayed here several times over the years and loved Janet, her husband, and their adorable dog Matisse, who the B&B was named after. We learned on this visit that they had sold the place. Johnny, the new owner, is friendly and accommodating, but he also manages multiple properties, so this isn't his main focus the way it was for the previous owners. First-time guests will no doubt find the place pleasant and comfortable. Returning guests, though, may miss Janet's delicious breakfasts. Matisse no longer serves breakfast on site. Guests have to go to one of two specific locations and submit the receipt to Johnny for reimbursement of up to $35. That means it isn't really a bed and breakfast anymore, and guests should know that in advance. Room 1 used to have the hall bathroom reserved for its guests. That didn't seem to be true this time: we stayed there, and it seemed other guests used our bathroom, which was strange since the other two rooms have their own ensuites. New guests will probably enjoy the place, but return visitors may or may not like how much the experience has changed.

John was a wonderful owner, friendly, courteous, and helpful. The place was clean, quaint, cozy, and peaceful, and made a relaxing, comfortable home for our weekend of wineries, dining, and shopping. There are lots of amenities nearby, and just a short drive gets you to just about everything worth exploring. We will most certainly return to Matisse B&B this summer. We strongly recommend it. Thanks, John. 😊

The host who met us with our room key was nice and asked if we knew the area. We got a card for breakfast, and the place was only a 3 minute walk away.

John, the manager, was very helpful, and we had a lovely week here. The room was beautiful and very clean, and the location was great. We had breakfast at the golf club at waterfront. The town is beautiful, with lots to see, and we enjoyed the restaurants and wineries. We had originally booked one night for a friend's wedding. After our friends left, we added a night to see Niagara Falls and the surrounding area, then added one more, and ended up staying a whole week. A polo game took place during our stay, which was a nice surprise. We also rented a bike next door and explored the whole place. We'll definitely come back next summer, if not sooner.
