Somerset Bed and Breakfast

This was our second visit, and Somerset B&B continues to impress us with its location, amenities, style, service, and quality. It’s a real gem within a gem, a relaxing retreat. Wendy was so good to us, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for a great stay!

Wendy was an excellent host, and the setting and waterfront view were lovely. The high street restaurants and theatre are only about a 10-minute walk away. Some room details could be better for this price: the old hairdryer has no nozzle, a window pane was cracked, and some of the bedding was polyester rather than cotton. Still, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Wendy made a delicious homemade breakfast just for us, and we loved our room in this exceptionally clean, shoes-off home. The living space facing Lake Ontario was larger than we expected, and the Somerset exceeded our expectations. The main shopping street is a two-block walk. Niagra-on-the-Lake was just right for a two-day getaway. Next time, we’ll add a bike ride and stay another night. Thank you to our hosts Shannon and Joerg for making the trip special.

The view from the Master Suite was outstanding, and we loved being able to walk to downtown restaurants. Wendy was lovely and attentive, and we had a great five-night stay at Somerset. The one sour note came on our last morning: a photoshoot had been booked for 8am, and people arrived at 7:45 shouting in the foyer while we were trying to sleep in and enjoy our final hours. Since we were checking out, it could probably have been scheduled for 11am. At $800 a night, we found the noise pretty disrespectful. Aside from that, it was a nice experience.
