River Inn

The room was basic, but clean, and good value for the price. The AC worked well, and the staff were helpful. Even over the weekend I couldn't hear the bar downstairs, which was a pleasant surprise. Old-school small-town hotel bars have a bad reputation, but that didn't match my stay. I booked while in town for work and would stay here again if I came back.

We spent two nights here for a wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff were welcoming and fun, and made us feel right at home. They were lovely with our baby daughter and kept making her laugh and smile. The rooms have been recently renovated, and the full-size mini bar was handy for keeping snacks and leftovers. Downstairs there's a local bar and a delicious restaurant, a fun place to have a beer and a good meal. The other customers were just as welcoming. Whenever we got a beer, someone would introduce themselves and have a nice chat. The rooms were cozy, and we'd stay again in a heartbeat if we came back to town.

We weren't sure about staying above a bar, but it turned out to be surprisingly quiet. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the shower was great. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and also found the smoke house, with great BBQ that reminded me of what I used to have in Texas. I'll stay here next time I'm in the area.

We were in town for a conference and weren't sure how noisy it would be with people around the lobby and bar. The rooms ended up being quiet, clean, renovated, and had useful amenities like a coffee pot, microwave, and mini fridge. You check in right at the bar, and the hotel is right downtown. It was a decent stay overall.
