Sandman Signature St. John's Hotel

We’ve stayed at this hotel many times, choosing it for getaways when my wife and I needed some peace and time away from family. It used to be a pleasure, but the last few visits have gone downhill, and this latest one was the worst. The check-in guy was rude and unprofessional, and the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. There was garbage and old food under the couch, most of the charging outlets didn’t work, the dishes were dirty, and the bathroom lights were out. Half the ceiling was coming apart, and the balcony slider was cracked and barely opened. Then younger kids ran and screamed up and down the hall, banging on our door. I went down to complain, but there was nobody at customer service to speak to. After paying pretty much $300 for one night, I’m extremely disappointed and probably won’t return. I feel I should be asking for a refund or a complimentary stay. The old staff were super nice. The new crowd should be fired.

The hotel and rooms look appealing, but the service and cleanliness were awful. My room was cleaned only twice during my six-day stay, even though I was out most of every day. Garbage was left behind, the bed wasn’t made, and the towels weren’t changed. There was a constant whistle from the bathroom whenever the light was on, and after five minutes the light started flickering. I also saw silverfish. I don’t recommend it.

We had a comfortable, pleasant stay at the Sandman Signature St. John’s Hotel. The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was quite small and didn’t seem appealing for kids. My 11-year-old even said so.

The lobby was beautiful, and the service at the Sandman hotel was wonderful. Our room was OK and big enough for what we needed. One elevator was out of service, so getting around took a while, though it wasn’t a big deal. The pool and hot tub could really use a deep clean. Still, it was a nice stay.
